Zoom on the grey area

In order to reinforce the level of requirements for the production of medical and paramedical parts, EMI has equipped  its works with a 350 m² grey area, integrating an ISO 8 clean room, a 50 T press with ISO 8 laminar flow and a robotised cell also under ISO 8 laminar flow.

But what is a grey area?

It is a delimited area where the air is not filtered, but with entry and exit procedures for people, materials and equipment. The element ‘s flow management is ensured through different gates for the entry and exit of staff personal and of materials. In this area, procedures are in place to reduce product contamination (dust, grease, hair...) and only trained staff in the obligatory quality procedures required in such an environment are authorised to enter. Thus, the introduction of pallets and cardboard boxes is limited and each incoming element is subjected to dust removal.
Similarly, the tools necessary for daily maintenance of the grey area are reserved for this enclosure. This area allows us to meet the production needs that are asked on terms of cleanliness.
